Some additional information on the SDRC committee

How is the committee structured, and what terms do members and office bearers serve?

The SDRC Committee consists of four office bearers, elected annually and eight committee members that once elected can stand for a period of three years prior to either opting for re-election or standing down in favour of new committee members. All committee members have the opportunity to stand down at the end of each year to allow for nominations of new members at the AGM.

All elections and nominations are ordinarily undertaken at the AGM.

What do the committee do for the members and what can members do to help out the committee?

All of the committee are volunteers that give up their time to assist in planning, organising and running the club activities. Committee meetings are generally held on a monthly basis to an agreed agenda. The meeting provides the opportunity to discuss the planning of all forthcoming events and arrangements required (e.g. instruction, booking venues, helpers etc.), any issues raised by members including correspondance and suggestions for improvement, financial issues, and any other business that is related to the clubs activities.

To ensure that events run well we require the support of all club members to assist the committee in undertaking their roles. This support is welcomed and greatly appreciated. We always welcome more help so if you have a spare 30 minutes or a day please let us know. Without the help of our members we would not be able to run the many events and activities scheduled during the year.
